It was definitely not like anything else from the Muse repertoire, it seemed so simple, and it was too upbeat and it had this "I feel like I've heard this song before" vibe all over, but most of all it always seemed to me like this song was really concrete, like everything fell into place perfectly. It's kind of pop, but at the same time it's very rock, and it has that piano riff that gets easily stuck in the ear. Starlight is a very simple song, but since the very first time I listened to it, it became an instant classic to me, I just knew I would love the song permanently. If you're given a simple task, people automatically expect you to do it perfectly because you can't excuse yourself blaming the difficulty. In fact, composing a simple song is a bigger challenge sometimes, because simplicity calls for a better execution. But simple ≠ poorly done, or at least it shouldn't be. We don't always need a complex song to enjoy music, right? There's a time for everything, and sometimes we're in the mood for a simple song. Hello!
